An illustration essay（例证说明文）一般遵循总‑分‑总结构，分为三大部分：introduction（引言段）、body paragraphs（主体段）、conclusion（结尾段）
1. Introduction 引言段
功能：引出话题，提出thesis statement（中心论点）
Thesis statement：全文的概括观点，整篇文章要用例子去证明它。
Unit1 课文中心论点：Learning is a lifelong process.（学习是终身的过程）
要点：引言不要堆砌例子，只提出全文核心观点。
2. Body paragraphs 主体段
主体用例子支撑 thesis，有两种展开方式：
方式① Multiple brief examples（多个简例）
列举 2‑4 个简短事例，从不同角度证明中心思想（课文 We learn as we grow 使用此方式）
课文主体简例：
①Little children learn basic skills from parents.
②Students acquire knowledge at school.
③Adults learn from real‑life experience after graduation.
方式② One extended example（一个详例）
用一个完整、细节丰富的事例，分细节展开，证明论点。
💡写作注意：
每个例子之后，最好做简单分析，把例子和论点联系起来，不能只摆例子不加评述；
使用信号词过渡：for example, for instance, a case in point, such as。
3. Conclusion 结尾段
功能：重申中心思想，总结全文，不要引入新例子、新观点。
课文结尾：Learning never stops throughout our life.
